Rooster Designs MIDP help

Some of the applications require permissions to different interfaces in the phone. Some phones allow user to define these from the platform, some don't. This can be network operator specific, so these are not defined only by the phone's make and model, but also the platform version and branding. For example, Hutchison 3G doesn't allow any third party applications to be installed. To make sure your phone can run the application from us, try to install one of our free demos order one from here.

  1. Was installation successful?
  2. Are permissions set ok?
  3. No sounds
  4. Can't access the download site
  5. Problematic network operators

1. Was installation successfull?

For signed applications, like all applications downloaded from our download system, the platform should show the user a notice that the application is from a trusted third party. You can also verify this after install by checking application details in your phones application menu (or application manager), it should say something about "trusted third party". If you see "Untrusted" there's something wrong.

2. Are the permissions set ok?

Most of the devices default the permissions to "Ask once" or "Ask always". This results the security checks when running the application. This can be very annoying especially when browsing file system or making multiple network connections. For signed applications these permissions can be changed by the user on most devices, to get specific info for your phone go to Permission help. We try to collect info for as many devices as possible, but unfortunately we don't have every make and model.

3.No sounds

If application sounds are not working please check the following:
  • Nokia S40
    1. Go to applications in main menu
    2. Select "Options"
    3. Select "Application Settings"
    4. Set "Application Tones" to "On"
  • Nokia S60 v2
    1. Go to "Tools"
    2. Select "Profiles"
    3. Select "General" or the profile you are using
    4. Select "Personalize"
    5. Set "Warning Tones" to "On"

    4.Can't access the download site

  • Make sure your connection profile is set correctly for your network.
  • Connect to download site only with your phones native browser (Opera mini does not work)
  • If you are using the native browser and still get an error saying "User your phone to access..." send us an email so we can fix it.
  • If you can connect to other wap sites but not to the download site, you may try the alternative site http://roosterdesigns.fi/dl.wml
  • If problem persists please, don't hesitate to contact infoREMOVE@REMOVEroosterdesigns.fi, we will find a way.
